AOL City Guide

So. I am starting things up again with AOL City's Best. This time I will be writing a weekly article about family-friendly activities and events in and around Las Vegas.

I was a little hesitant at first because I didn't know if I would be able to generate content on such a consistent basis. After all, with the blog I just post whenever I have something to say. But after discussing things with my editor and getting a clearer picture of what they need, not only do I think I will be able to do it, I think its going to be pretty fun.

Fortunately for me, I will be able to sort of translate what I have already been doing on this blog and put it out there for all the world to see. Ok, maybe not all the world. But definitely a significant portion of Las Vegas families. In fact, the content I write for AOL just might replace my local reviews. Maybe. Still thinking about it.

Either way, if I link up to the AOL site, click over and be sure to check out what new and interesting things I have come up with. And, as always, be sure to give me some comment love. On my blog I mean. The AOL site doesn't allow comments. But I do. I love comments. I live for comment love. It is what nourishes my fragile writer's heart. If you do not comment and tell me that I am special I will shrivel up and die. If you do not comment and virtually pet my head, I will 1) try to crawl in your lap and beg for head-petties, and 2) I will suffer a thousand unimaginable sufferings.

I know, its pathetic. But I don't care, because I need it. And you are going to give it to me. Right?

    Congrats on the AOL CityGuide thing! Just think - you will be mesmerizing and entertaining the inquiring minds of the Las Vegas Valley, AND GETTING PAID TO BOOT! SWEET!

    Looking forward to seeing more of your suggestions. Right now I'm relying on Nickelodeon's Parent Connect to tell me what's going on around here. Glad to have more local help to get me and my little man out and about.

Having a baby and being exhausted a lot of the time makes me feel really old and decrepit. Sometimes I see a picture of myself and I am surprised by how young I look, simply because I feel so old. How to Battle Caffeine Addiction

How can you battle caffeine addiction? Um, you tell me because I have no idea and I've been struggling hard against becoming addicted to caffeine. Heck, I even struggle against the idea of needing something like caffeine to get through my day. But the truth is that caffeine is like having a secret mommy superpower. Caffeine makes me brave. Caffeine makes me want to live my life to the fullest. I can accomplish things when I have had coffee. It...dare I say it? It makes me a better person. For example, when getting ready to go to the park with the kids, I normally just throw whatever on myself and the kids, and walk out the door. But when I have had coffee it makes me do crazy things like care about our appearance.   And, because I am nursing my 2 month old, she can also accomplish amazing things. Costco Pusher

Since our family has been growing larger I have been getting increasing pressure from family and friends to shop at Costco. Everyone wants me to go there. And they aren't shy about getting their Coscto-lovin' feelings across to me. I literally cannot get through an entire visit with my mom without the topic of Costco coming up. Usually, she tries to get me to take a trip there with her by insisting there is something there that she really, really needs. Even though she is only in town for 48 hours. And I always find an excuse of why I cannot possibly go, or why my pantry and toilet paper is completely stocked to capacity. Because the truth is.... I. Hate. Costco.
